I have two little boys and days with them are never dull. I've learned to embrace parks and soccer balls and trucks and dirt. One of the games the three of us love playing together is 'rescues' (you name it, we have pretended to rescue it)! Yep, I am definitely a 'boy mum' and I love it! But just occasionally, I see a picture of a girl's party that is so deliciously styled, I feel a twinge of longing.
Never fear, fellow mums of boys! For those times when you feel like want to go to town with a gorgeous theme I have rounded up 5 ideas for boys' parties that the favourite men in your life will love just as much as you do!
1 Dinosaur Party
Before children, I didn't now my Icthyosaurus from my Brachiosaurus but ah how times have changed. At some point, if you have boys, you are almost certainly going to do a dinosaur party so why not do one as gorgeous as this one by Ashleigh Nicole Events?
I love that this approach allows you to choose a few colours you love and then have fun with them. There is no reason you couldn't do this with red and grey or orange and blue. So long as you use some of the elements like burlap and floral greenery, it should tick all the boxes for your little man.
2 Peanuts Party
There is something so innocent and nostalgic about Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the Peanuts gang. And with the release of the new Peanuts movie, your little boy is bound to be excited about this party theme. This is a beautiful take on the theme by Frosted by Nicci
I love that the monochromatic palette makes this party feel really modern. But the backdrop is pure Peanuts!
3 Zoo Party
Who doesn't love animals? Don't think that you have to do a zoo or safari party in the traditional khaki colours. Go bold and bright and do something that will make all the mums of girls jealous! This party is by Red Wagon Events. Didn't she just kill it?
I cannot tell you how many times I have come back to this tablescape. On some levels it is really simple: bubbles, mason jar glasses, some zoo animals and paperware. But doesn't it just look spectacular? Proof that the right colours and a sense of scale can create magic.
4 Cars and Transportation
Just like the dinosaur party, a car party theme has a sense of inevitability about it. So embrace your inner romantic and imagine the wind in your hair as you plan this vintage car party.
This party is by Rainbows and Lollipops and while I usually like a clearly defined colour palette I have much respect for the stylists who can make a complex palette like this sing.
5 Bike Party
And finally... this is such a sophisticated party. I love the imagination and whimsy that Red Wagon Events has shown here. This would be perfect party theme for the birthday on which your little boy gets his first bike.
Happy party planning mums of boys! Be sure to leave a comment and tell me which party theme you love best for the boys in your life!
